After the last update the featured image on my blog post appears squared, even if it actually has a rectangular shape. This only appears on my new blog post. Older posts with featured images with the same shape and size as the new post are not affected.

I want the original shape of the featured image to come back! After all, there is a reason I crop the featured images to this size… I’ve checked both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, and both show the same wrong format.

    Hi Veronica,

Sorry for the late reply, we have been on holiday.

As we see on the website your featured images have different intrinsic sizes from the origin, please install 3rd party plugin: AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild https://wordpress.org/plugins/ajax-thumbnail-rebuild/  rebuild your image thumbnails and everything will be fine.

    Kind Regards

This did not work at all!! Instead it started to transform all of my other featured images on my blog posts to a squared format!! Please fix this as it makes my blog look horrible! I deactivated the plugin after a while, so it didn’t mess up all of my images.

So, I dont thing this can be a good option! Any other option that is more pertinent?

I’ve updated the theme, and tried rebuilding the thumbnails, and it still doesn’t work. If you look at your test you will see that the image on the blog page is not as rectangular as the photo itself. I’ve tried creating new blog posts with the same image as you, and the last image I’ve uploaded, but no success.

Please look further into this as this used to work just fine until recently. All my featured images on my blog post should be rectangular, like the blog post from Aug. 19 (and older). My blog posts from Sep. 22 to Nov. 7 was originally fine, until I rebuild the thumbnails, and they now appear squared (even though they’re not).

    Kind regards,
    Veronica Kvale

Yes, same here. No changes. The featured images are still messed up. Also to install an older version of Ashe theme does not change it. It must also be an entry in the database. Maybe it is time to speak with the programmer. Haha.

But we have made a progress here: At first it was messed up with 9:16 featured images and now it is 1:1.

The goal to come closer to 16:9 is in sight.

Hi All, Today we have found that the latest WP update causing this issue – a lot of other themes have been affected – you can read more on the official WP site https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/62413

So let’s wait for the latest WP update which will be available very soon (today or maybe tomorrow as wp.org has reported)

But keep in mind that we are also working hard on this issue to find a workaround before the latest WP update is released, so if we find a solution we will update the theme ASAP – keep an eye on theme and WP updates :).

    Kind Regards,
    Nick

Was just coming here to report the same.

Thanks to the team for the quick answer on this.

Will wait patiently for WP to resolve this.

New WP 6.7.1 is available for now, please update it, update our theme as well (if you have not updated it yet), and rebuild thumbnails and all be fine then.

    Kind Regards,
    Nick
