I would like to add more social icon fields to the footer of the homepage using the Customizer and the Social Media sub-item.
Unfortunately, there is no entry for WhatsApp and Telegram in this list yet.
Therefore, I would like to know how I can add these two entries myself.

About adding WhatsApp and Telegram icons in Ashe

In the Ashe theme, the social icons in the footer are limited to the predefined list inside the Customizer. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to manually add new social networks (such as WhatsApp or Telegram) through the theme options — the theme can only display the icons already included in that list.

The only way to add additional social platforms is by using a third-party plugin that can output custom social icons anywhere on your site.

Here are reliable plugins you can use to add WhatsApp, Telegram, and any other social links:

(Lightweight and easy to use, supports custom icons and placements)

If you want icons specifically inside the footer bar

Add the plugin’s social icon widget into the footer widget area:
