The strangest thing happened – I logged into my WP dashboard and the pro theme was not there anymore! All the work I had done to customize it – gone. Poof. So I tried to install it again. I got an activation key – another one: sk_z0Nq6s2c&JE?h9U!oCJ~@.52WIg#7. I searched my Gmail and could not locate the previous key given to me. So now the error I receive is this:
<span style=”color: #d3135a; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, ‘Segoe UI’, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, ‘Helvetica Neue’, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: center; background-color: #fffafa;”>If you want to activate the license on localhost/development/staging environment for free, make sure your site is running from a domain named “localhost”. Alternatively, you can run it from one of the following subdomains: “local.”, “dev.”, “test.”, “staging.”</span>
It seems odd, because this is the method I used before to activate the theme. I contacted my host and they said this:
<div class=”intercom-block-paragraph e16pl8n50 intercom-6oopf4″ style=”overflow-wrap: break-word; word-break: break-word; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 0px 0px 10px; color: #14161a; font-family: system-ui, ‘Segoe UI’, Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, ‘Apple Color Emoji’, ‘Segoe UI Emoji’, ‘Segoe UI Symbol’; background-color: #f5f5f5;”>That message in WP-Admin is coming from the theme’s license rules: they only allow “free” activation on domains like <code style=”padding: 1px; background-color: #ffffff; font-family: Courier, monospace;”>localhost, local, dev, test, or <code style=”padding: 1px; background-color: #ffffff; font-family: Courier, monospace;”>staging. subdomains.</div>
<div class=”intercom-block-paragraph e16pl8n50 intercom-6oopf4″ style=”overflow-wrap: break-word; word-break: break-word; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.4; margin: 0px 0px 10px; color: #14161a; font-family: system-ui, ‘Segoe UI’, Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, ‘Apple Color Emoji’, ‘Segoe UI Emoji’, ‘Segoe UI Symbol’; background-color: #f5f5f5;”>On Flywheel staging, your URL often won’t match those patterns, so you’ll usually need to enter a valid license key in WP-Admin (the theme’s License / Updates page) or renew/confirm the subscription in the vendor’s portal first.</div>
<div>Do I need my original license key to activate and install the Pro theme again?</div>
