    There appears there may be an issue using the Ashe Pro theme since WordPress v6.9. The issue happens when inserting an image in a post, setting the alignment to center, and then edit the inserted image as HTML so that I can add a custom CSS class in the HTML code. I then save the post with the inserted image in HTML format. If I don’t edit the inserted image as HTML when setting the image alignment to center, the alignment displays correctly.

    Following is usually how I insert images into a post using WordPress.

    First I upload the image(s) I plan to use to my server using SFTP.

    Then I commence to insert the image(s) into a post using the / Image option. I then select the Align Center option, click the Insert from URL option, and then I enter the URL to the image location on my server.

    After the image appears, I then click the far right option (three dots stacked vertically) and select Edit as HTML.

    I then enter a custom CSS class to make higher spacing above and/or below the image.

    When I click out of the code area, I get the following error:

    https://imgbox.com/eyxk0Gpj

    At that point, I click the far right option (three dots stacked vertically) and select the Convert to HTML option.

    However, after upgrading to WordPress 6.9, the aligncenter part of the code is basically ignored.

    Following is the custom CSS class that I created and use:

    .image-margin-default {
    margin-bottom: 30px;
    margin-top: 30px;
    }

    I initially reported the issue as a bug in WordPress 6.9 on the WordPress Fixing WordPress forum. However, a forum member stated that he wasn’t able to duplicate the issue on his end using the theme he uses. Therefore, he stated that it could possibly be an issue with the theme I’m using.

    I also tested using the Twenty Twenty-Five theme and the issue didn’t appear to present itself. I say didn’t appear because the home page in the Twenty Twenty-Five theme appears to center everything by default.

    I have been inserting images using the above process for years and it has always worked until I upgraded my sandbox site to WordPress 6.9 and the issue still exists after upgrading to WordPress 6.9.1.

    Hi Kurt,

    At first, thank you for choosing our theme and service.

    In order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.

    To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo

    What access level do you need and for how long? Do I reply here with the link to access my site?

    I don’t understand why you need to access the backend of my site. If you follow the procedures I provided you should see the same issue if the issue is with the Ashe Pro theme.

    I’m sure the Temporary Login Without Password plugin will not work for my site. I have two logins and I’m not going to disable one of them.

    We require Administrator access to check your specific configuration and potential plugin conflicts. We were unable to reproduce the issue on our test servers, which indicates it is likely unique to your environment.

    The “Temporary Login Without Password” plugin generates a direct link that bypasses standard login forms and typically works regardless of other login layers. If you prefer not to use it, you can create a standard Administrator account and share the credentials privately.

    In order to assist properly, please generate a Temporary Login URL with Administrator permissions and share it here so we can investigate directly.

    Kind Regards

    It appears that the code snippet was inserted incorrectly into the HTML generation section of the post.

    We have created a test post on your website, saved as a draft, and applied the code with 50px top and bottom margins. It is displaying perfectly on the front end. Please check the draft and let us know if we are missing any aspect of the issue.

    Kind Regards

    No, the post is not displaying correctly. You selected align-center for the image, but it is being displayed aligned on the left. That was the issue I identified.

    Okay, I installed and played around with some other themes and I’m experiencing the same issue with those themes. So, I do believe there is a bug in WordPress 6.9 and it wasn’t resolved in the 6.9.1 update.

    Hi Kurt,

    Thank you for confirming that the issue persists across different themes. This indicates that the problem is related to the WordPress core update rather than a theme-specific bug.

    Since the issue is present in the default environment, we recommend monitoring official WordPress core updates or seeking further assistance through the WordPress.org support forums.

    Kind Regard
