Is it possible to have some sort of descriptive or intro text above the postings?

It’s so abrupt to have postings without introducing them.

For this you need to use the category description option, please try to use the theme provided one or you can find any 3rd party related plugins to get the result.

Is there a way to make the Category Description text to not be centered?

So instead of
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.</p>
it is like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.
