hello, is there a plug-in to change the max width of the content area of JUST the singe blog posts (not the Categories Featured content)? … or is a child theme scenario?

As you are running the coming soon mode we are not able to visit your website.
In order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.
To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo

1. Free advice: Your uploaded images are huge in size, you need to optimize them for the web or they will cause speed issues and will harm your google ranking, most of them are 2MB or higher: https://nimb.ws/L6QIHe
2. If you want to make single post page more in width, you can use Post option to make your chosen posts display in the full-width layout, for that, please navigate to Dashboard > Posts > Edit Post > Post Options > Full-Width Content and tick Yes.
Kind Regards

1. Please see theme imported images, they have a perfect size and compare yours.
2. What do you mean by “make them much narrower…not full-width.” to change the width for the particular pages we need to change some codes and scripts, and this kind of coding is beyond the scope of our support.
Kind Regards
