Hello everyone,
I’m almost hesitant to ask here 🙁
I’m currently watching your video about Loco Translate, where you demonstrate how to translate “read more”. That’s exactly what I’m trying to do for my German-language blog, and it actually looks quite straightforward.
As shown in the video, I select the “Ashe Pro” theme in Loco, click on “New language”, choose German (de_DE), translate “read more”, and save it. Under Settings > Site Language, “Deutsch” is selected.
However, “Read more” is still being displayed:
https://beta.vazemapa.cyon.site/
I’ve created a cloned version of the site for testing purposes, so I can experiment freely. But I just can’t seem to figure it out.
Does anyone have a tip? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Thank you so much! Best Oliver
July 15, 2025 at 11:11 pm #77208Hi Oliver,
We understand that you’d like to change the theme text strings into German. To assist you more effectively, we kindly request access to your website’s admin panel so we can review the relevant sections directly.
In order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.
To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo
We will proceed with translating the parts you’ve mentioned.
If there are additional text strings you’d like translated, please provide both the original English versions and their corresponding German translations. This will help us ensure accuracy and consistency across your site.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards

July 17, 2025 at 8:50 am #77213Hi Vako,
Thank you for your adjustment.
On the German site (https://www.cloudkaffee.ch), “Weiterlesen” is now displayed correctly — perfect!
Unfortunately, the same translation also appears on the English site (https://www.cloudcoffee.ch), where it should still say “Read More”. Could you take another look at this?
The translation of the posts is managed via the Polylang Pro plugin.
Is it still possible to localize the button text accordingly? If you believe language-specific control of the button is not feasible in my setup, I’d prefer to revert and display “Read More” everywhere.Best regards,
OliverP.S.: I also noticed that “Type & hit Enter” was translated correctly — however, the German version doesn’t appear when clicking the search icon in the navigation.

We translated Type & hit Enter text into German, we missed that you are using Swiss German, and we translated strings in German only, which made a difference, now it’s translated correctly: https://prnt.sc/9JoKVzvPj2Rx
Regarding the Read More text under the posts, it is controlled via the customizer. Please navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Customise> Blog Page > Read More Text, and you’ll see that text can be input manually.
To translate the theme custom section, you have to ask the Polylang plugin developers if they can do that.
Kind Regards
