Hi,
I am seeking your guidance on how to edit and create a template for the category pages so that the posts within a category are automatically displayed in a specific format
Here is a more detailed description of what I am trying to achieve:
1. Category Page Customization: I would like to customize the appearance and layout of category pages on my website. Specifically, I want posts within each category to be displayed in a consistent and visually appealing format that aligns with the design of my website.
2. Custom Template Creation: To achieve this, I believe I need to create a custom template for category pages. However, I am unsure about the steps involved in creating this template and how to ensure that posts within a category automatically adopt this template when viewed on the category page.
I kindly request your expert guidance on how to achieve this customization.
September 4, 2023 at 5:46 pm #71644Hi Zainab,
Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in customizing your category pages with the Ashe Pro theme. While the theme itself doesn’t offer built-in options to edit category or archive pages, you can achieve the desired customization with some additional tools.
Here’s a general guideline on how to proceed:
1. **Page Builder Plugin:** Consider using a page builder plugin like Elementor. Elementor allows for easy drag-and-drop customization of page layouts, which includes category pages.
2. **Royal Elementor Addons:** If you want even more customization options, you can pair Elementor with the Royal Elementor Addons plugin. This plugin adds a variety of additional widgets and features to Elementor, which can help you style your category pages as you desire.
3. **Creating a Custom Category Page:**
– Install and activate Elementor and Royal Elementor Addons (if you haven’t already).
– Create a new page (not a post) in WordPress.
– Edit the page with Elementor.
– Use Elementor’s widgets and the additional widgets provided by Royal Elementor Addons to design your custom category page.
– You can use dynamic content options to display posts from a specific category on this page.
4. **Displaying Category Posts:**
– In Elementor, use widgets like “Posts” or “Post Grid” to display posts from a particular category.
– Configure the widgets to display posts from the desired category.
5. **Conditional Logic (Free Feature):**
– Royal Elementor Addons includes a free version with conditional logic support, allowing you to conditionally display content based on various criteria without the need for Elementor Pro.
– You can use this feature to conditionally display your custom category page when users visit specific categories.
Please note that the exact steps may vary slightly depending on your specific requirements and the plugins you are using. However, using Elementor and Royal Elementor Addons should provide you with the flexibility to create visually appealing and customized category pages that align with your website’s design.
If you have any specific questions or need further assistance while implementing this, please feel free to ask, and I’d be happy to help.
Best regards
