    Hi,

I have several issues with the Ashe theme and I am unable to solve despite trying since long and having adjusted all the settings as per the instructions.

    • I would like to display my recent blog blog posts on the “Home”-page, but they are not showing.
    • I have activated the featured slider with recent blog posts, but it is also not showing on the “Home”-page.
    • The widgets, which are supposed to show in the right sidebar of the “Home”-page are not showing, despite being activated.
    • There is a white field showing on all the pages under the header image, when I change the menu color to a dark color.
    • Some menu headings are displayed in two lines instead of one.

Please could you help me with that? I have also contacted WordPress-support, but they were unable to solve the issues.

    Thank you very much.

    Best wishes,

    Stefanie Handschuh

    Hi Stefanie,

Actually, all the mentioned issues are not issues themselves its configuration options that must be managed to get the desired result.

In order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.

To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo

    Hi Stefanie,

    1. The Recent post section can only be displayed on the blog page, your website uses the static page as the home page and a separate blog page, mentioned section is a related suggestion for users for more blog posts, if you want to recreate the same section we recommend to use page builder for that and place created section on the home page manually.

    2. By default featured slider and featured links appear on the blog page, to enable them on the custom pages, please navigate to Dashboard > Pages > Edit Page > Page Options and enable them for the particular page manually.

    3. In the Ashe Pro theme sidebars can be enabled in several ways, first is to select page layout with sidebar, for this please navigate to Dashboard  > Appearance > Customize > General Layouts > Page Layouts and chose your prefered style which includes sidebars, here is the screenshot: https://nimb.ws/Pk14rf

The pages which are not listed in this customizer section  (Home page in this case) can also use sidebars via page options, please navigate to Dashboard > Pages > Edit page > Page Options > Show Sidebar

Please make sure that widgets in the sidebar areas are added from the back end, please navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and check sidebar areas of the are filled with widgets you want to be displayed.

    3. We can’t find the white space you mentioned, please send us a screenshot of the issue for more showcase.

    4. We fixed 2 line menu items with custom CSS.

    5. Regarding the widgets you need to add them via Dashboard > Appearance > widgets and config them manually.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Vako,

Thank you very much for your detailed reply and for fixing the 2 line menu items.

I was able to add the widgets with the help of your instructions. The issue in regard to the white space seems to have been resolved after I have activated another version of the Ashe Pro theme (Ashe Blog). I have made the “About”-page now the static front page.

I am still stuck in regard to the featured slider and the Blog page. I am a beginner in regard to website design. I have activated the featured slider on the custom page (in this case the blog page), as you suggested, but it is still not showing.

In regard to the Blog page, I would like to display the page in exactly the same way as in the Ashe Blog theme under “Home” (https://ashe-pro.wp-royal-themes.com/classic/). I think it was included in the demo version that I installed, but I might have changed the page unwillingly. How can I get back the same design?

Furthermore, on the “About” page, the right sidebar is still not showing, although I have activated the right sidebar as per your instructions.

    Best wishes,

    Stefanie

    Hi Stefanie,

    1. Featured Slider by default displays featured images of the blog posts, as I see from your website you have 2 published blog posts and none of them has a featured slider attached, you want to keep your blog posts in this way you still can use slider but in this case, you need to manually upload images, for that please navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize >Featured Slider and for the source chose option custom instead of post. Featured image attachments also will make your blog page look exactly how it’s shown on the demo page.

    2. We activated the sidebar on the About page, to enable sidebars on the custom pages, please navigate to Dashboard > Pages > Edit Page and scroll down to the Page options section and check for the filed Show Sidebar

    Hi Vako,

Thank you very much. I was able to activate the slider.

I have a few other queries:

    1. How can I disable the blogger-widget with the photograph on the Front (About)-page, in case I would like to change the layout of the page in the future?

    2. Right now, the blogger-photograph is cut off on the top and the bottom. How can I disable this cut-off and get an oval shape for the photograph, which was there in the demo theme?

    3. How can I insert a picture in the text, so that the text goes around the picture?

    4. In the German translation of the menu, one page is still displayed in two lines (the translation of “Israel & The Palestinian Territories”). How can I display it in one line? Is there a specific plugin or CSS-code that I can use, in case there are new pages in the future added to the menu, which also have a longer title that goes about two lines?

Thank you very much for your support.

    Best wishes,

    Stefanie

    Hi Stefanie,

    1. To disbale any widget from the website you need to remove them via the Widget section, please navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and make changes from here, please note that it’s not possible with theme options to use different widgets for different pages.

    2. Image is cut off because it has incorrect dimensions, to make the image a perfect circle it must be square in its original format.

    3. You need to use Wrap options in the editor section, but if you mean to use this option in the widget itself it’s not possible.

    4. This is the CSS code we used, it expands sub menu item container to fit the long text:

    #main-menu .sub-menu  {

    width: 300px !important;

    }

You need to change only number meaning in this snippet, this code is located under Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

    Hi Vako,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried to change the dimensions of the picture to square and have also reduced the size, but unfortunately it is still cut off. Please can you suggest what to do?

Furthermore, I would like to make “Places” and “India” in the menu non-clickable. At the moment, if I click on it, it is leading to an empty page. How can I change this?

    Best wishes, Stefanie

    Hello Stefanie,

You’re welcome, and thank you for reaching out!

Regarding the issue with your picture being cut off, it’s possible that the theme or the WordPress settings are affecting the image display. To troubleshoot this further, could you please provide me with the link to the page where the image is being cut off? Additionally, if you can share the exact dimensions of the image you are using, it would be helpful for diagnosing the problem.

As for making the “Places” and “India” menu items non-clickable, we can achieve this by creating custom menu items that are just placeholders. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Go to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to “Appearance” -> “Menus.”

    2. In the “Menus” screen, select the menu where “Places” and “India” are listed.

    3. On the left side, click “Custom Links” to expand the section.

    4. For the URL, you can use “#” or any other non-existent URL. For example, enter “#” (without quotes) for both “Places” and “India.”

    5. Enter “Places” for the “Link Text” for the “Places” menu item and “India” for the “Link Text” for the “India” menu item.

    6. Click “Add to Menu” for both items.

    7. Don’t forget to save the menu after adding the custom links.

This will make the “Places” and “India” menu items non-clickable, and they will act as simple placeholders.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask. We’re here to help!

    Hello Vako,

Thank you very much for your support. I was able to make the menu items non-clickable with the help of your instructions.

Please find the link to the website below:

    https://magicoftheunknown.com/

The original dimensions of the picture are 2560 by 2560 pixels.

I also have a few further questions regarding the website design:

    1. When I post a new blog post, the picture next to the author’s name is cut-off the same way as the picture in the “Blogger” widget.

    2. There is a grey filter over the “Blogger” widget image. How can I remove this?

    3. On the start page in the “About” section, there is a shadow behind the text box below the heading.

    4. I have connected my Instagram-account to the Instagram-widget, but there are no pictures showing on the website.

    Thank you very much!
