Multiple Post Types

I’ve got multiple post types (Recipes, Articles, etc) instead of Posts. I’d like to use the Featured Slider, Featured Post, and Blog Page but it only lets me select Post or Custom. Is there anyway to have these pages look across all post types in generating the page?
