Most of my clients want to include their Bluesky socials on their sites. Is there a code I can add to include the Bluesky butterfly icon or at least a code you can give me to hide all the icons so it’s not obvious there is no Bluesky icon?
Hi Diane,
At the moment, Bluesky is not included in the built-in social icons list of the theme, and there isn’t a native option to add custom social icons (like the Bluesky butterfly) through theme settings alone.
Best solution
We recommend using a third-party social icons plugin, which gives you full control and already supports Bluesky or allows custom SVG icons. This is the cleanest and future-proof approach.
Good options include:
WP Social Icons
Simple Social Icons
Sassy Social Icons
These plugins let you:
Add Bluesky alongside other networks
Place icons in the header, footer, sidebar, or anywhere via widget/shortcode
Use custom icons (SVG or image) if needed
Kind Regards
