Adding Academic Social Icons

Hi,

In the default social menu of Ashe Pro, I would like to add new academic icons (https://jpswalsh.github.io/academicons/) particularly Google Scholar, Research Gate, and Orchid.

I have limited experience with coding and also new to WordPress.

Can you help me with the CSS to call a font character based on URL, so I can replace default icons in social menu of ASHE PRO with the above-mentioned ones, please?

I have tried most of the suggestions on the net regarding this and didn’t worked. A plugin such as ‘easy social icons’ can work, but they need to be used as additional widgets, etc, and does not change the default social menu of the theme.

Please help, if possible.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it’s not about some CSS snippets. We need to create a child theme and edit the main theme files there to get this working. Also, our icons are integrated with the theme customizer and it makes it even harder. You may hire a developer for that job.

I am already using a Child theme for my site. It’s a pity that icons can’t be changed without hiring a developer. For me, it defeats the purpose of buying the Pro version of Ashe.

I should look for a more flexible theme in that case. Thanks anyway!
