Hi Mirko,
If the functionality flags to switch to the different languages it means that you are using 3rd party plugin and how we find out irs Polylang plugin, in this case its better to contact this plugin support team and ask them to check for the issue.

March 2, 2021 at 6:03 pm #60318Hi Vako
ok, but the issue only appears after the last update of the theme, could you please let me know what changes were made exactly in that area during theist updates?
it also seems I wasn’t the only one impacted here.
Thx
mirko

Please contact the plugin support team and let us know their response, we will do our best to help if the reason for the issue is our theme.

December 25, 2021 at 3:18 pm #67284Hey,
What was the solution for the missing german translation? Many answers in private messages, so how to solve it (same problem here: “leave a reply”…instead of “Kommentieren”).

December 25, 2021 at 3:46 pm #67285Hi Stephan
In the functions.php I have created individual variable strings, e.g.
pll_register_string(‘Related Post’, ‘You may also like’, ‘Ashe’);
pll_register_string(‘Read More’, ‘Read More’, ‘Ashe’);
And then later in the code where required I replaced the original string with e.g. this one:
echo pll_e(‘You may also like’);
In the settings of Polylang in string translations you can then enter the values for German and English… Same logic will work for sure with leave a reply, in addition I am using Loco Translate.
December 25, 2021 at 8:08 pm #67287Hi Mirko,
ok…that solution sounds very difficult…and also sounds like when something is updated later (theme, wordpress or what else) it could be overwritten in code and you have to start again.
Some parts of the ashe pro are in german without these steps, so I think there must be a translation inside the theme, but not at all.
Anyway, where do I find the functions.php and how to find each string which I have to translate manually in there?

December 25, 2021 at 10:50 pm #67288Hi Stephan
as unfortunately no suggested solution here could help me, this is the way it at least worked for me manually… I have a child theme for another reason and have added these changes there, so when updates are coming, normally there is no issue, but I always have to double check it.
Is the leave a reply issue the only one for you? I just checked it and that one actually was covered successfully with loco translate – only the “You may be interested in” other posts section and “read more” buttons were an issue for me…
So better try with loco translate plugin first and if that won’t work, check out the code changes…

December 26, 2021 at 3:32 pm #67291Hey Mirko,
Thanks for your explaining. I’m using Polylang at the moment an actually I have the problem only with the comment section. But my page has started first…so no idea if there would be more problems.
What I’m wondering is that no of the ashe pro words are in the polylang list…so where is the translation from for the parts of ashe which are working…
Polylang finds no parts of ashe in its list.

December 26, 2021 at 5:30 pm #67293If you install the loco translate plugin in addition to Polylang (that is what I did), there will be more German translations available and actually yours might be fixed with that already… I would suggest to just add that plugin and then check if it helps. If not I can share my experience with you 🙂
December 26, 2021 at 5:45 pm #67294Ok…i’ll give it a try.
Thanks for your help!P.S. Very confusion to communicate in english if we could do in german too 🙂
December 27, 2021 at 10:11 am #67297Hi Stephan,
At first, sorry for the late reply, we had holidays.
If you have any issues during the theme string translation, please let us know we will do our best to help, but as Mirko suggested Loco translate can handle translation, we are using mentioned plugins for years and had no issue till today.

January 2, 2022 at 1:05 am #67365Hey Mirko,
Happy new year first!
The Loco Translation Plugin doesn’t fix it.
I’ve deinstalled it again. What I don’t understand is that many things are translated in the theme since I first installed it (for example: “Neueste Beiträge” or “Weiterlesen”) but then other things like “Recent Comments” or “Leave a reply” are not translated.
For my understanding: does Ashe have an internal translation already or where are the working german translations from? (In Polylang no of the examples above are listed…so its not translated by polylang).
If this is so, then the Ashe designer have stopped translating in german someday or will ther be an update? I think it couldn’t be the solution to let them inside the backend…and they fix something that nobody knows, and if they put new words in coming updates which also won’t be translated again.
Very confusing…I should have bought a german theme at first :-/

January 3, 2022 at 1:52 pm #67378Hello vako,
Do you think thats an effective way?
My homepage is still at the start of designing…if you now translate the few words i’m using that would be fine, but you have to do so every time i change something on my page…and that will never end…don’t know if i’ll use every possible english word from the beginning…maybe i’ll decide to use other widgets later and then i realize that they have to be translated by you again…
It would be easier (also for you) to describe how to solve the problem (you know the saying? “give a man a fish and he’ll be fed up once, but teach him to fish he’ll be fed up forever”).
