Hi everybody,
via shortcodes I have 2 different likebtns integrated into my blogposts. As my users can choose their favourites here, I need them to be shown in the excerpt. Can you help? How can I enable shortcodes in excerpts?
Thanks!

Kind Regards
June 2, 2021 at 11:41 am #61745Hi Vako,
sure! I unfortunately can’t share a link because the content is protected by a membership plugin and only visible for users. But I’m happy to share some Screenshots. As you can see I included 2 LikeBtns via shortcodes to my Post (I work with Elementor) – a heart for “favourite” and a checkmark for “done”. On an overview page I included a Post slider to show the 5 latest posts. As my shortcordes are part of the fist characters of each post I want the buttons to be shown in the excerpt on the overview as well.
Means: if a user marked a post as favourite or done he should see that information in the post slider.
But when I set up that it should show the excerpt, it shows nothing there – only the text that comes afterwards. I found something about a code that needs to be added to the function.php to show shortcodes in excerpts but that doesn’t seem to work. (I have to admit I’m a newbie when it comes to coding and stuff like that)
Here you can find the screenshots: <span class=”edit-post-post-link__link-prefix” style=”box-sizing: inherit;”>https://ginatenner.com/</span><span class=”edit-post-post-link__link-post-name” style=”font-weight: 600; box-sizing: inherit;”>show-shortcodes-in-excerpts</span>
I hope that clarifies my issue a little bit?!
Best, Gina

In order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.
To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo
Please also share the short codes you are using.

At first, sorry for the late reply, we had holidays.
Can you please tell us who is the provider of these shortcodes? They don’t look to be short at all. Please contact again this short-code provider and ask them to check for their validations, we were not able to reproduce the issue on your none on our end.
Please also share the direct link to the page where the ANWP post carousal appears.
