Normally, in WP, you can choose whether or not to have comments turned on with posts AND pages. Your theme has removed this.
WE NEED THAT OPTION.
Please advise.

June 26, 2021 at 5:39 pm #63645Hi Angela,
To turn off the comment section on the single post page, please navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Single Post > Post Footer and turn off the option “Show Comments Area”
Kind Regards
June 26, 2021 at 6:16 pm #63649Yes, I did that and it did not work. The Bio page still has comments. SEE IMGUR.
WHY did you remove the OPTION to have comments ON or OFF? That is completely unnecessary and overrides standard WP protocols!! What if we don’t want a particular POST to not have comments? Can’t do it, it’s all or nothing. That is really a dumb thing to turn off. All that code to do something that didn’t need to be “fixed”. UGH.
Please do something about this in an update. It is extremely annoying.
June 26, 2021 at 7:10 pm #63652Made a fresh page and that fixed it. BUT I’d STILL like to have the option BY PAGE OR POST, not universal.
TIA

June 28, 2021 at 9:46 am #63655Hi Angela,
At first, sorry for the late reply, we had holidays.
Actually, we have not removed the comment section from the pages, on our test servers we checked and the options still appear under Dashboard > Pages > Edit Page > Discussion, please check the screenshot: https://nimb.ws/Ylwjrc
If those options are disabled on your side, in order to assist we need to check your website from the back end, please install this 3rd party plugin “Temporary Login Without Password Plugin” which allows us to access your dashboard without sharing access details.
To better understand how the plugin works, please watch the video guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMu0e78OpJo

June 28, 2021 at 5:08 pm #63662I’m not sure which version of WP you are using, but it looks like WP.com? My edit page is 100% different. I am using WP installed on MY server, not hosted by WP.
See imgur: https://imgur.com/a/E93kwXb
HOWEVER, I did see that discussion was turned OFF by default in the screen options in this theme. THAT is the issue.
So, I figured this one out, too.
Thanks for your help! Hope you had a nice holiday!
