Hello all,
how can I disable the Google Fonts, they are not compliant with the privacy policy in Germany.
Thank you and best regards
Jörn
Hi Jorn,
At first, sorry for the late reply, we had holidays.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible with the theme options, please try to use 3rd party plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-remove-google-fonts/
Kind Regards
The topic “Google fonts” will become more imminent for your EU customers / people who will visit websites with your theme.
Basically “Google fonts” is not compliant with EU privacy law – not only in Germany (it is just that there courts are acting now).
Could you therefore please consider to provide options within your themes to choose the source of fonts? Maybe a task for one of the near future updates?
Thanks.
Hi MSZ,
I will redirect this topic to the developer’s board and they will check.
Kind Regards
Hi,
Please use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-webfonts-local/
to solve your issue.
Kind Regards,
Nick
I do use this plugin already. It is mostly OK, but there are still some minor issues with it.
However, biggest issue is that many surely don’t want to rely on a plugin for several reasons (security, relying on updates etc.).
Therefore it would be good and surely much appreciated if your developers would be able to implement an opt-in / opt-out of Google fonts.
Thanks for consideration.
